Abstract :
This year, the number of submissions has continued to grow to 105, refl ecting the continued growth in haptics research. The 36 platform presentations and 52 posters from participants all over the world, are perhaps the defi nitive source for the state of haptics research in 2005. As the symposium has continued to grow, we have expanded the team responsible for its production. We are formalizing an expanded structure and set of job descriptions as the symposium is clearly evolving into a full-fl edged conference. Our sincere thanks go to the many reviewers and the Program Committee members who worked hard to ensure the quality of the selected papers.
