Abstract :
Based on the superposition of cylindrical wave functions, the eigenvalue equation of a coaxial cavity is given, where the misalignment of the inner rod to the outer wall is taken into account. As a practical consideration, the eigenfrequency of a 140 GHz/1.5 MW coaxial-cavity gyrotron oscillator is analysed. It is shown that the eigenfrequency is significantly affected by the structural misalignment
