Abstract :
In this paper, the adaptive beamforming (ABF) estimation principles of uniform rectangular array (URA) are introduced. An URA is composed of a number of uniformly distributed identical omnidirectional antenna elements. LMS algorithm is applied to antenna beamforming in URA. The effect of mutual coupling between array elements on the performance of smart antenna is investigated. The ABF method produced incorrect results unless it is taken into consideration.
