The purpose of the study was to investigate the perception of extension agents regarding use of IT in agricultural of Iran. perception of extension agents regarding use of IT in agriculture assessed by 5 items: use of computer in agriculture, use of electronic mail, use of the world wide web, use of Presentation software, Web page editing. Overall (M = 1.69; SD =.91) extension agents tended to agree or were unsure about use of IT in agriculture. Also e-mail, presentation software, and word processing ranked highest in training needs for extension agents. Based on results essential characteristics for Information Technology (IT) in agricultural of Iran were: -Establish communication between farmers, coordinators (extension agents), agricultural experts, research centers, and community by information technology. -The communication between all factors should be mutual. -The information must be based farmers need. -Internet used as a facility to transfer the advanced agricultural information to the farming community. -Farmers can be illiterate and speak a local language and they are not expected to use the system directly.
