Abstract :
Thales has successfully designed and built a high power, long pulse, high efficiency UHF klystron prototype for proton linac sources. The TH2182 reference operates in horizontal position and delivers up to 1.5MW peak and 150 kW average RF power at 704 MHz, in 1.7 ms RF pulse, and with an efficiency of 65%. Details of the design and test results will be presented.
