Abstract :
The relation between the degree of crystallinity and the dielectric properties of semicrystalline polymers has been discussed in many publications. The subject of this paper is the change in dielectrical properties during crystallisation and melting, including a comparison between the ohmic AC-conductivity calculated from the dielectric data and the directly measured DC-conductivity. The phenomena occurring in polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a semicrystalline homopolyester, are compared with those of a liquid crystalline copolyester
