Abstract
A numerical method for the synthesis of hybrid-type launchers for high power high order mode gyrotrons has been developed at KIT [1]. In terms of this numerical method, a launcher operating in the TE32,9 mode at 170 GHz, has been designed and numerically tested. Compared to corresponding harmonically deformed inner wall and mirror-line launchers, the hybrid-type launcher can provide an RF beam with higher Fundamental Gaussian Mode Content (FGMC) at the launcher aperture.
