Abstract
The concept for the OTEC deep water condenser is based on circulating a working fluid between the OTEC surface evaporator and a deep water condenser. This approach results in lower capital plant costs due to elimination of the large, rigid cold water pipe and reduced pumping power for the working fluid rather than seawater
