Abstract
A new approach to edge detection in images corrupted by impulsive noise is presented. The proposed method adopts fuzzy reasoning in order to extract edges without being deceived by the noise which is present in the data. Experimental results show that the fuzzy technique performs better than other methods in the literature from the point of view of sensitivity to noise and detection of image details
