Abstract :
The opportunities provided by a synthetic vision system depend on the ability of the sensors and databases to meet the requirements imposed by the intended functions. Based on the data requirements, this paper addresses the question whether in general aviation an incremental approach is possible by means of retrofitting certain synthetic vision system components that have the potential to increase safety and ease of use
