Abstract :
The emergence of a power market in Vietnam is becoming a reality. This paper deals with the Vietnam electricity market structure and operation, as handled by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), who acts as a system operator and market operator. A competitive power pool, operated by EVN - NLDC (National Load Dispatch Center) has been introduced to carry out the day-ahead market, where EVN acts as a single buyer. The day-ahead market model with its specificities is presented in this paper. This market infrastructure provides the foundation for a full market system
