Abstract :
A 365 GHz Higher Order Mode Multi-Beam Folded Waveguide Traveling Wave Tube (HOM-MBFWTWT) has been designed. The TWT employs the operation in TE30 with three electron beams. The high frequency characteristics, transmission characteristics and interaction characteristics are investigated using Computer Simulation Technology - Microwave Studio (CST-MWS) and Particle Studio (CST-PS). A lossy dielectric material loading which can suppress unwanted modes is also discussed. The results show the HOM operation can enlarge the transverse dimensions of FW circuit and enhance the output power of THz TWT.
