Abstract :
Zinc sulphide thin films which crystallized in sphalerite structure were grown on amorphous glass substrates using a modified ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. The effects of substrate temperature and spray duration on the optical and electrical properties of the films were examined. Highly transparent films with a band gap of 3.5 eV were obtained. Resistivity of films varied significantly with substrate temperature as well as with spray duration. The growth parameters were optimized to obtain films with high transmission and low resistivity suitable for solar cell window layer applications.
