Abstract
Summary form only given. Optical short pulse sources with a high repetition rate are important in high speed optical switching and optical time-division-multiplexing (OTDM). In this paper, a 10 GHz actively mode-locked fiber-integrated semiconductor ring laser is implemented, in which good short-term amplitude is shown and total cavity length is considerably shortened minimizing the impact of environmental perturbation compared with the erbium doped fiber laser (EDFL).
