Abstract :
A new approach for low gain fluctuation based on small-signal gain analysis of wide-band traveling wave tubes (TWTs) is proposed in this paper. For the known simulated dispersion characteristics of slow wave structure (SWS), the relation between interaction impedance and frequency is obtained by setting zero to the first derivative of gain with respect to frequency. We can confirm whether a SWS reaches the low gain fluctuation by utilizing this method.
