Abstract
Whilst simulation offers much to the designer of process control systems, it is rarely used for small systems because of the overhead of moving between simulation and implementation. A technique is presented which views simulation as an integral part of implementation and which removes the disincentive to simulation. Indeed, simulation and implementation are considered as two alternative compilations of the same design text. It is shown how this idea can be the basis of a design method
