Abstract :
We have experimented incident detection with image processing systems and collected incident data for a few years at metropolitan expressway in Tokyo. In our analysis, we come to see that propagation of rapid deceleration wave is one of the most important causes of incidents. In addition, the deceleration wave is a key problem on the other location. This tendency is particularly true of our target of Akasaka tunnel which is high-incident point. Therefore, our goal is to predict these danger situations in order to provide information to drivers for safety driving support. We obtain pulse data from supersonic wave sensors and we predict dangerous situations from the information of these sensors.
