Abstract
Summary form only given. We have observed up to 50 times enhancement of SHG in polymer thin films by microcavities. The microcavity is a Fabry-Perot cavity formed by a DBR and a silver layer. The cavity length is on the order of the fundamental wavelength. Strong confinement of fundamental light in the microcavity leads to significant enhancement of SHG in the polymer film embedded in the cavity.
