Abstract :
This paper describe the video surveillance system that was installed in the new born Turin automatic underground line. The main feature of the system is the transmission of the images. Transport protocol is IP, video streams are MPEG4 encoded and the transmission of the images between trains and central room is made in real-time with standard wireless IEEE protocols, for the first time ever.
