  • Abstract
A method is presented for simplifying assembly constraints which are caused by the geometry of parts as well as the contact relationships between the parts. Assembly constraints are simplified by removing redundant constraints using inherent properties of the constraints. A liaison graph model is taken as an input, and the simplified assembly constraints are generated as the infeasibility conditions on assembly tasks. The simplified assembly constraints may greatly reduce the complexity of generating assembly sequences
