Abstract :
Summary form only given. Here, we describe a new method for the direct detection of specific sequences in double-stranded DNA. This method allows analysis of genomic samples without the need for a denaturing step. In addition, it can be combined with other single-molecule detection techniques that allow sizing DNA fragments by measuring their individual electrophoretic velocities. The present technique is based on a two-color, single fluorescent molecule detection technique.
