Abstract :
This work presents a methodology to estimate the transmission tariffs evolution of a new plant to be sited in the Brazilian electric system. The estimate is made for a horizon up to 10 years ahead, and takes into account the necessary reinforcements in the transmission network in order to make feasible the operation of the new plant. The methodology presented may be used to help the investor to choose the connection point of a new plant that minimises the expenses with transmission charges
