Abstract :
This paper compares the water vapor retrieved from MODIS with GPS PWV in Kansas State and Oklahoma State of USA between July and August 2009, discovering that the MODIS PWV changes consistently with GPS PWV but is systematically lower than GPS PWV. Based on the significant linear regression relationship of MODIS PWV and GPS PWV, an integrated retrieval model is established, which can be used to improve the retrieval precision of MODIS PWV. Then interpolation models in GIS technology are discussed for water vapor simulation at the time there exist no MODIS data. The research shows that the integrated application of spatial information technologies improves the precision, spatial and temporal resolution of water vapor retrieval.
