  • Abstract
    With the development of society, personal identification becomes more and more significant. As we know, there are many disadvantages of the traditional identification. So lots of biometrics arise. As one of biometrics, iris recognition is of great importance nowadays with its higher accuracy and stability. Here, the main steps of iris recognition are introduced, including pre-processing of image, iris location, iris normalization, feature extraction and pattern recognition. Our work focuses on pre-processing and a new accurate and rapid method of iris location is proposed. The validity of this method is verified by our experimental results.
