Abstract :
Information therapy (Ix) is the prescription of specific, evidence-based medical information, to the right person, at right time to help that individual make a better health decision. We have investigated the usability of knowledge management technologies in automating the delivery of medical information in Ix. In our developed solution the content of personal health records as well as the medicinal information entities is organized according to a specific ontology. As a result patients do not need to navigate on the Web to find evidence-based medical information. Instead the medicinal information or its links are automatically delivered to patients´ personal health records. Which information is delivered depends on the content of the personal health records, and thus the delivery can be automatically targeted.
