Abstract
A novel cross-S-shape metamaterial structure is proposed. This metamaterial radome is suitable for circularly-polarized antenna. The radiation patterns of the patch antenna with and without metamaterial are also measured. The results show that there are 3dB improvements of the antenna gain and HPBW is also reduced, after adding metamaterial radome. The impedance bandwidth and AR bandwidth are also improved. And the efficiency is more than 70% within the operating band.
