Abstract :
The application field and computational scale were taken into account when selecting plants simulation models. The FON model was chosen due to its advantage of perfectly representing the plants interaction considering the relationship between trees and environment. The FON model was applied in stand simulation which had been modified by one of the mechanism sub-modules in purpose of giving better biological explanation of tree growth. The progress of competition and growth were simulated for Chinese fir(Cunninghamia) plantation.
