Abstract :
A method for relational evaluation of clinical manifestations and diagnostic tests, aimed at putting them in order according to their clinical significance as assessed on the basis of expert knowledge, has been proposed. The knowledge, acquired by means of the ELSA method, has been processed and used to aid clinical decision-making in gynecology and obstetrics. The problem setting and the issue of medical knowledge representation are discussed. An example diagnostic problem is considered
