Abstract
GEULMóvil captures real-time solar ultraviolet radiation index (UVI), from moving vehicles. For the first time, geographically referenced UVI radiation is measured from the earth as opposed to indirect satellite UVI estimation. Time stamped UVI, along with GPS data, is included in a standard SMS message sent to a server. A web application displays real time UVI maps. GEULMóvil consists of a UVI sensor, a GPS, a modem and is designed around an Arduino. GEULMóvil has an estimated cost below U$S 1000, in small quantities. GEULMóvil allows to be reprogrammed remotely for administration and maintenance.
