Abstract :
In this paper, we consider a cyclic prefixed single-carrier (CPSC) relaying scheme for wireless relay systems over frequency selective fading channels. At the source node, a CP is inserted to combat the inter-symbol interference (ISI). Each relay amplifies the received signal after CP removal and a cyclic delay (CD) is introduced to improve the system performance. With the CP and the cyclic delay, the multiple relay channels are combined into a multipath fading channel. As a result, low complexity frequency domain equalizers, such as minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer, can be used to recover the transmit signal. We analyze the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the proposed cyclic prefixed single-carrier relaying with cyclic delay diversity (CP-SCCDD) and frequency domain MMSE equalization. Under a system power constraint, we also investigate the power allocation among the source and the relays to improve the system performance. Finally, extensive numerical results are provided to show the frame error rate (FER) performance of the CP-SC-CDD scheme.
