Abstract :
This article aims to analyze the transient stability of electrical power systems including the influence of induction generators driven by prime movers whose primary fuel is the industrial wastes of sugar cane alcohol plants. In steady state, these machines work with the synchronous generators attending part of the active power demand (cogeneration), and during disturbances they also act to improve the system transient stability. Using an existing transient stability program, some simulations are run to compare the performance of a typical electrical system with and without the presence of induction generators
