  • Abstract
    Accurate probability density functions in the presence of both all-order PMD and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise are estimated electronically, and used for maximum likelihood sequence estimation and a maximum a posteriori detection to mitigate PMD in the presence of ASE noise.
