Abstract :
Deal with admission control of heterogeneous users in the wireless environment. The users generate traffic of differing bit rate and quality of service requirements. The admission control policies admit both new and handover users. The authors examine different methods of resource allocation based on the complete sharing (CS) and complete partitioning (CP) policies under all ranges of offered load and under different relative traffic arrival rates. They show that hybrid reservation policies are best able to adapt to the performance profile suggested over a range of offered loads both in macrocell and microcell environments
