Abstract :
Conformally mapped TO designs simplify the specified material properties, compared to the requirements for general TO devices, while still allowing a high degree of design flexibility. As an example application of the new approach, an easily constructed metamaterial lens is presented that allows electrically tunable beam scanning through the introduction of PIN diodes or MEMs switches. Variations on this metamaterial design could be used to implement additional conformally-mapped TO devices of interest.
