Abstract :
The optimization of a power electronic circuit with respect to different criteria and specification is a difficult task, since in more complicated circuits not all dependencies are as clear as desirable. This paper presents a new method for optimization based on automatic sequential simulations, configuration, component design and evaluation using a combination of Matlab and PSpice. Once the basic model has been set-up in PSpice, Matlab m-files are used to vary parameters according to user defined boundary conditions. All control loops are designed automatically using applicable control laws for each configuration by the employed PSpice DSP model. The different losses and "best" components are determined automatically using the obtained waveforms and several databases. This approach has been used to optimize a three-phase inverter for grid connection.
