Abstract
Summary form only given. Precise tuning of monolithic mode-locked laser diodes to a 9.95238 GHz SDH frequency has been successfully obtained by controlling the effective length of the distributed Bragg reflector. This method is a very effective way to provide RZ and soliton optical pulse sources at a specific clock frequency through the present fabrication process.
