Abstract :
This paper has presented a segmented loop antenna for UHF near-field RFID applications. The challenge is to keep the current along the loop in equal magnitude and in-phase. The proposed segmented loop antenna is able to produce a strong and uniform magnetic field distribution even though the antenna is electrically large with the perimeter of the antenna is comparable to the operating wavelength. Therefore, the proposed segmented loop antenna is suitable for the UHF near-field RFID reader applications.
