Title :
Control of hopf bifurcation in power systems via a generation redispatch

Abstract :
This paper presents a methodology to control Hopf bifurcations in power systems based on the active and reactive power redispatch of generators. The proposed methodology computes the sensitivity of Hopf bifurcation to set-point values of automatic voltage regulators and prime governors. A detailed system modeling is used to evaluate the bifurcation diagrams, where the equilibrium points are obtained directly from the differential-algebraic equations (DAE) system. Numerical results are presented for the New England test system and show the potentiality of the proposed methodology on the Hopf control
