New trends in the development of foundational and practical bases for intelligent applications - message from the editors

This volume of the IEEE Intelligent Systems´2012 Proceedings contains a collection of research in these concepts of both foundational and applied type, by both well-known experts and young researchers. In these papers different formalisms for describing of intelligent systems are discussed and they are applied to modeling of real objects. This volume contains 14 sections, 6 of which are invited sessions and 3 are poster sessions in various fields.
