  • Abstract
    We report a 4×4 hard polymer clad fiber splitter using a novel fusion-tapering technique, which showed an insertion loss of 10.50 dB and excess loss of 4.58 dB, with excellent uniformity in power splitting ratio. Eye patterns of throughput for 1.24 and 2.5 Gbps at 820 nm were also measured.
