Abstract :
A Narrowband Power Line Communication (NB-PLC) modem that can provide reliable and cost effective data communication capabilities is an ideal and natural solution to Smart Grids communication needs. In this paper, authors proposed the design and experimental validation of a robust 9.6 kbps NB-PLC modem. The design methodology of a narrowband S-FSK based PLC modem with optimized physical layer is first presented. Compliance tests, experimental results and performances analysis are further described in this paper.
