Study on epistemic logical description of metaphor understanding

Metaphor plays an important role in language epistemology and discourse understanding. The research of metaphor is an increasing important field in cognitive science. We must get along with metaphor in our life. As a common phenomenon, metaphor influences our life as a kind of thinking; because of metaphor we can use a certain area of experience to explain another field experience. In this article, we try to put forward a logical system to descript metaphor understanding. First, we present the basic epistemic logic system, including the language, semantics, and axiomatisation. Then, a conservative metaphor system for the metaphor understanding is constructed based on this system, and the corresponding language, semantics and axiomatisation are presented. Finally, the application of this metaphor epistemic logic system is showed.
