Abstract
In this paper a Sierpinski fractal bowtie microstrip antenna is proposed. From some experiments, the multiband behavior of these antennas types will be demonstrated. In order to obtain a broadband operation, changes in radiator element, in feed system and in ground plane were applied. Feed system uses microstrip line with quarter-wave transformers designed through the binomial sequence and on Tschebyscheff polynomials. These modifications influenced the antenna performance for a return loss within acceptable limits between 6.2GHz and a maximum frequency of 20GHz.
