Abstract :
In this paper, a single-phase ac-dc converter is proposed. It is composed of N single-phase boost rectifiers in a parallel connection scheme. The proposed topology permits to reduce: the current and consequently the power ratings of the switches and the switching stress in dc-link capacitor. Also, it is proposed a PWM strategy, which allows reducing the THD of the grid current when compared to the conventional single-phase ac-dc converter. Suitable modeling and control strategy of the system, including the unbalanced case, are developed. Simulated and experimental results are presented.
