Abstract :
Conventional centralized and predication-based channel assignment methodology, whether fixed or dynamic, is not suitable for the emerging personal communications environments. The distributed measurement-based channel assignment approach seems to be a practical solution to these environments. We compare the performance of two different distributed measurement-based algorithms and one conventional centralized prediction-based algorithm for dynamic channel assignment (DCA) under different conditions. It is found that a simple aggressive algorithm called LIA (least interference algorithm) performs the best
