Abstract
A carbon nanotube (CNT) field emission display (FED) with triode structure has been investigated in this paper. Based on the simulation of electric fields in the triode structure, a moderate structure is designed. Insulating layers are developed to endure the adequately high voltage. We also optimize structural parameters such as the insulator height and gate-hole diameter, which are demonstrated to improve emission properties by experiment data. All layers are fabricated with the screen printing process, so this device is promising in applications of low cost and large area panel displays.
