Abstract
The paper analyses the operation of the autonomous wind-diesel system with the load control. The study was carried out using the PSCAD/EMTDC computer simulation package. The performance of the system under various load conditions was examined. The system behaviour was simulated for static loads at a range of power factors, dynamic loads and a mixture of both. The influence of the type of load, the switching moment and the load composition is analysed. In all examined cases, the maximum load the system can meet was established and alternative methods to increase it were suggested. The loads with reactive portion and the dynamic loads participating in the load control were simulated and solutions for a satisfactory performance were proposed
