Abstract :
After a review of asynchronous code division multiple access (A-CDMA) systems, quasi-synchronous CDMA (QS-CDMA) systems are introduced and its performance is determined based on the calculation of the bit error rate (BER). The two systems are compared with numerical examples and the superior performance of the latter is established. The results calculated for Gold sequences with N=511 and K=48 subscribers are presented and confirm the superior performance of the QS system as expected. This advantage is ≈10 dB for Pe=10-7
