Abstract
The compact RFID tag antenna with two L-shaped strips and two shorting pins is proposed for metallic objects application. The two L-shaped strips are used to increase impedance bandwidth, and the two shorting pins are used to reduce the influence of metallic objects. The measured 10 dB impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna has about 32 MHz (898-930 MHz), which covers the UHF band in America (902 MHz to 928 MHz), Korea (908 MHz to 914 MHz) and Taiwan (922MHz to 928MHz). Beside, the proposed antenna use meandrous structure to diminish the antenna size. The design is a good candidate for tag antenna in UHF RFID systems.
