Abstract :
In this paper, a compact-sized, CP antenna for a 433.92-MHz handheld RFID reader application is presented. The basic design of the proposed antenna is a twoelement, miniaturized Yagi antenna composed of a driver and a director. Yagi antenna, one of well known directive antennas, has the advantage of increasing the gain of the handheld RFID reader antenna. The radiation pattern is directional toward the tag position. Since the design is in a dipole shape, no ground plane is needed. The complete dimensions of the antenna are 115 χ 115 χ 13.8 mm. Copper wires with a radius of 0.5 mm are used for each element. All simulations were performed with FEKO.
